Two greeting messages can be recorded, one to use the default mailbox (mailbox 1) or one to direct callers to leave messages in specific mailboxes. This is especially useful for families or small offices.

To use the mailbox feature, the greeting message directs callers to select the desired mailbox by pressing 1-4 after the greeting finishes. If no mailbox is selected, the message will be recorded in mailbox 1.

e.g. mailbox message.
"Hi this is the Robertsons answering machine. We cannot answer the phone right now but you can leave a message after the tone for Sue by pressing 1, press 2 for John, press 3 for Graham or press 4 for Lucy. Thanks for calling".
